Randolph C. Stenson is on the music faculty at St. Mary’s International School in Tokyo, Japan, where he conducts the St. Mary’s Men’s Choir, Varsity Male Ensemble, and International Show Choir. With more than twenty years experience in developing male ensembles, his groups have gained international recognition, winning top honors and awards at competitions and festivals in Japan and abroad.
Mr Stenson’s choirs have appeared with such diverse performers and musical organizations as Placido Domingo, Jose Carreras, John Ken Nuzzo, John Denver, Perry Como, Yuzo Kayama, Alexander Mikhalov, John Rutter, and the Covent Garden and La Scala Opera Companies. They have performed for Japanese television and radio audiences, members of the Japanese Imperial Family, government ministers, visiting dignitaries including former President Reagan, and have been featured guests the world over. Mr. Stenson is a graduate of Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota where he studied and sang under Paul J. Christiansen and Larry L. Flemming. Additionally, he has continued choral studies through master classes with Rodney Eichenberger.
